Eighth grader Marie Barry wanted to help sick children.  On March 9th the middle school held Hats on Day, a fundraiser for the Foundation for Children with Cancer.  This nonprofit organization provides resources to families for nonmedical expenses, hospital programs, and quality of life issues for children fighting cancer.

Stickers were sold for $.50 to $1.00 and placed on a hat.  Students who had donated wore their hats in school on Friday to show support for children who loose their hair due to chemotherapy or radiation treatments.  Pictured here tallying the proceeds are students, Marie Barry and Sara Crowe, and teacher aide, Mary Lia.  A generous donation of $628 was raised by our students, teachers and staff.
