Another set of boots will soon be entering the United States Military Academy at West Point.  Founded in 1802 under President Thomas Jefferson, the Long Gray Line has graduated eminently famous and highly successful Americans:  Lee, Grant, Pershing, Bradley, Eisenhower, Patton and MacArthur.

Now, Benjamin Mhyren, a 2006 Minisink Valley graduate, and JROTC battalion commander, will join this prestigious group of Americans in June to begin a four-year regimen leading to a commission as a Second Lieutenant in the Regular Army in a branch to be determined and accepting his college degree in his selected major.

Everyone here at Minisink Valley wishes Ben the best of luck.
