MVCSD AND SUNY ORANGE PARTNER IN STEM-BASED PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) design challenges were at the forefront of the conversation in a professional development collaboration between SUNY Orange and Minisink Valley CSD.

SUNY Orange Professors Elizabeth Tarvin and Katie Sinsabaugh came to Otisville Elementary to give a workshop based on the book, “Making and Tinkering with STEM: Solving Design Challenges with Young Children,” by Cate Heroman.

Teachers explored STEM centered literature, learned about design challenges and engaged in hands on activities to test their engineering skills. Our students are in good hands with these pioneering faculty.
