Odyssey of the Mind will meet after school today in room 212.




Any senior athlete having a minimum of B+ average and SAT score of 1110 and have participated in two sports for at least two  years in each sport and is interested in applying for NATIONAL INTERSCHOLASTIC ATHLETIC ADMINISTRATORS ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP  detailed information is available on Naviance or contact Mrs. Patel at the guidance office.

Attention all Key Club members, there will not be a meeting today after school. Our next meeting is November 30th. Please make every effort to attend.



There will be a Film Society meeting after school in Room 212. Join us as we gather to watch student created films and plan for the future.



Attention FBLA members: The FBLA induction ceremony is tonight at 7:00 PM in the high school auditorium. Business dress is required. This is a mandatory event.



Attention Student Council members, those interested in volunteering to work the movie night event on December 8th, please sign-up outside of Mr. Clementson's room, 141.  If you have any questions, please see Brandon Bell or Kelly Lynn.

Attention all students 16 or older. The senior class blood drive has been rescheduled for Tuesday December 19th. Any student who sign up for the first drive and would like to keep their spot see Mrs. Hoolan by the end of day Wednesday. The rest of the open spots will be available for sign ups Thursday.

Attention Freshman Sophomores and Juniors:

If you missed having a photo taken on the regular photo day or you have a retake please go to the back of the auditorium during your free time today only.



Attention Cross Country Runners:  Please return your uniforms to Coach D'Antono in room 139 and your warmups to Coach Sucich in room 133 as soon as possible.



Please excuse all  JROTC students at this time for their monthly formation.

The 5 hour course will be Tuesday Nov 14th from 3-8pm in room 201B. The cost is $40. Payable to Decat the night of the class. Please bring your permit.



During the month of November, the library is hosting a Book Face Photo Booth.  Students are invited to find a book that has a face on the cover and use the book cover to take a picture that creates the illusion that the cover and student are one.


Stop by the library to check out the pictures and take one yourself today!

Attention Youth-in-Government members, there will be a meeting to discuss the steering convention  after school in room 140. If you cannot make the meeting make sure you see Mr. Clementson or Mrs. Grasso.


There will be a meeting for anyone interested in joining Matmaids after school today in room 201B. Please arrange to pick up at 3:15 or plan to take the late bus home.



GSA: There will be a GSA meeting after school today in rm.235. All students are welcome.


Attention Seniors:  Please be advised that SUNY Orange will be here on Monday 11/13 from 11 to 1pm in the library to conduct their Instant Admissions program.  This is free to all seniors who apply on this day.   If you have any questions about this process, please see your counselor before next Monday.



Attention FBLA members: Please stop by room 119 to pick up a permission slip for the sports career day hosted by the Brooklyn Nets. Spots will fill up fast so pick up a slip ASAP.

HOBY is a State Leadership Seminar designed to empower high school sophomores to recognize their leadership talents and apply them to become effective, ethical leaders in their home, school, and community. Selected student attends our three day seminar to participate in hands-on leadership activities, meet leaders in your state, and explore personal leadership skills, while learning how to lead others and make a positive impact in the community.  Any Sophomore wishing to represent Minisink at this year’s leadership conference should visit the counseling center.  Applications are due today.

Good Morning Minisink. Today is November 6, 2017 it is an A day.

 

Congratulations to the Girls Varsity Swimming and Diving Team who Competed in the Section 9 Championship meet last thursday friday and saturday. Congrats to Abigail gibbons on placing 2nd in the 50 freestyle and 100 breastroke, and to Maddie Yager who Placed 4th and Taylor Williams who placed 6th in diving. Good luck to Abigail Maddie and Taylor who all qualified for and will compete in the state championship!

 

Minisink Valley JROTC won first place in the Washingtonville Drill competition for "Armed Color Guard" Cadet CSM Shah, Cadet 2LT James, Cadet 2LT Bozzone and Cadet 1SG were the winning team members.  JROTC also took second place in "Unarmed Color Guard" and second place in "Unarmed Squad Drill".  These wins were in competition with eleven other JROTC programs.

 

Also, JROTC will be holding it's monthly formation during 3rd period Wednesday- Those that competed in the Drill completion do not need to wear Uniforms.

 

Odyssey of the Mind auditions will take place after school on Wednesday in room 212.

 

The Junior Math team will practice today after school in Middle School room 243. Please be have a ride, or be prepared to take the 3:15 bus home.
