MRS. LEE 6TH GRADE SCIENCE CLASS MAKES THEIR OWN SNOW

Did you know that you can turn boiling water into snow? With the help of Mrs. Ferrier and Mother Nature, Mrs. Lee's 6th grade science classes conducted a fun experiment where they created their own snow! Below you can read about the scientific explanation behind it:

Boiling water has relatively low viscosity. When it is thrown in into the air it breaks into tiny droplets that vaporize almost instantly due to the high ratio of surface area to volume.  However, cold air can’t hold much water vapor, so it quickly clings to tiny sodium or calcium particles and crystallizes, thus creating snow.
