Dark and scary, or sweet like candy corn, poetry and Halloween go together like trick and treat. Just ask a librarian! Every year the Middle School Library holds a Halloween Poetry Contest to give students an opportunity to have fun with creative writing and enter a friendly competition around Halloween themes. Students in all grades have until Thursday, October 27, to submit their original poems for a chance to win in one of three categories:

1) Scariest

2) Best artistic design

3) Grand Prize: Most Spooktacular!

Poems can be typed or handwritten. Art and decorations must be done by hand. Originality is a must and creativity is encouraged. All poems must be middle school appropriate.

The winner of the “Most Spooktacular” category will read his/her poem over the announcements on Halloween!
