BAND AND CHORUS EIGHTH GRADERS GROW AS SOLOISTS AT ANNUAL CONCERT

Thirteen students performed in the Second Annual Eight Grade Recital on the evening of April 27, under the direction of MVMS Band Director Laura Martellaro and Chorus Director Daniel Bradley.

Also known as the Desert Concert, the event is set up in cabaret style with students performing solos from musicals, pop culture, and classical standards – while the audience enjoys sweets and drinks provided by the band and chorus officers.

"This kind of performance gives students the opportunity to choose something that speaks to them musically and be the true creative director of their piece,” Ms. Martellaro said. “They learned how to perform as soloists and work with an accompanist, which was a whole new experience for some. I am really proud of all the work our students committed to this musical event."

"It was a wonderful evening of music, and we were thrilled to showcase the talent and preparation of our eighth graders," Mr. Bradley said.

Congratulations to all participating students: Grady Brunelle, Devin Doty, Tobias Enoch, Destiny McCullough, Brooke Melendez, Recael Millwood, Alyson Morse, Isabelle Mullek, Angela Perez, Gabe Santiago, Shannon Seymour, Amali Truglio, and Julia Ward.
