MINISINK VALLEY “GOES GOLD” FOR CHILDHOOD CANCER ON SEP. 29

September is National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. On Fri., Sep. 29, our school community is wearing gold/yellow in solidarity with children and families affected by childhood cancer--including our own survivor, Valerie Moore, a high school junior.

Childhood cancer is now the leading cause of death among children and adolescents in developed and developing countries. Gold is the national color for childhood cancer. “Go Gold for Childhood Cancer” is an awareness campaign that encourages people to take action and press for the development of new treatments and therapies.

So show your support for children who are fighting the disease, honor those we have lost, and celebrate survivors. GO GOLD on Sep. 29!
