NOTHING says "thank you" like a free and fresh cup of coffee delivered to your door, first thing in the morning! Ask MV Middle School teachers—and nurses, and staff!

“I look forward to this every year,” said sixth-grade ELA teacher, Ellen Ferrier. “It’s a chance to see present and past students, coming back to visit.”

Throughout TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK, May 5-10, members of Student Government are ringing a bell outside every classroom to announce their very appreciative coffee-cart service, with a smile. The privilege and responsibility is assigned to a different grade each day of the week.

“This is a way to show that we really care about our teachers, say hello, good morning, and show how grateful we are that they are our teachers," said sixth-grader Audrey Guido.

Audrey was partnering with Cayleigh Kuiken. “You can tell how much teachers appreciate it when you see their big smiles,” Cayleigh said.

A second coffee cart was entrusted to Gia Gangi and Anthony Cucuzza. “I love walking down the hallways getting to know the teachers and seeing them happy,” Anthony said.

Wednesday, May 8, was also National School Nurse Day, and Youth Government was there for them too. “This is a very nice treat. And we deserved it! Once a year," said nurse Melissa Singer, who, like all the best school nurses, faces every day with a great sense of humor.

It's still time to #ThankATeacher and your school nurse this week for all they do, every day, to help students learn and grow, dream and achieve.
