Minisink Valley High School is proud to announce its 2016 Valedictorian, Morgan Ratynski, and Salutatorian, Julia Cirillo. 


“On behalf of the Minisink Valley school community, we want to congratulate these young women for their outstanding accomplishments and leadership,” said MVHS Principal Kenneth Hauck. “They continuously challenged themselves, pushed their limits, and gave of themselves to their community to reach this milestone. We celebrate their success with their families and friends, and we are confident they will go on to change the world and to make us proud.”


Valedictorian Morgan Ratynski will be attending the University of Delaware, Newark, DE. She is yet to declare a major but is interest in journalism. She hopes to study abroad and plans to go on to graduate school.


Morgan is currently the vice president of the Key Club, secretary of the National Honor Society, secretary of the Book Club, Junior Leader of the Drama Club’s House Crew, and an active member of the Future Business Leaders of America. Since her freshman year, she has also worked as a volunteer with developmentally disabled adults in the ROOTS program. Morgan enjoys working at Studio Ayo Fitness Center, spending time with her family and friends, and volunteering whenever possible to give back to her community.


Morgan is the daughter of Deborah and Kevin Ratynski.


Salutatorian Julia Cirillo will be attending Boston University, Boston, MA, where she plans to major in Biomedical Engineering.


Julia is in the National Honor Society where she serves as a mentor. She especially enjoys math and science and has been a tutor for classmates and several underclassmen. She has participated in the girls’ varsity soccer team. Outside of school, Julia has been horseback riding since the age of five and has competed at the national level. 


Julia is the daughter of Peter and Kelly Cirillo.


Morgan and Julia’s academic achievements were first celebrated at the Outstanding Students Recognition Dinner on May 25, followed by the 17th Annual Celebrating Excellence in Education event on June 2 at the State Capitol, sponsored by Senator John Bonacic. They will also be honored at the high school’s Academic Awards ceremony on June 9.


Minisink Valley High School will hold its Graduation Ceremony on Friday, June 24, at 6:00 p.m., at the John Bell Field.
