FBLA STUDENTS ATTEND ANNUAL SPORTS BUSINESS DAY, LEARN FROM EXPERTS

All 69 club members of Minisink Valley's Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) and three chaperons traveled to MetLife Stadium on Oct. 20 to participate in the second annual Sports Business Day, hosted by the New York Jets.

The event gives students a behind-the-scenes look at the sports industry and offers insight into the many jobs supporting the daily operations of a sports franchise.

Jets business executives in marketing, group sales, customer service and food and beverage departments shared their expertise with over 1,000 students in attendance. During a guided tour of the stadium--including the field and locker room--Jets representatives spoke to the group about the approaches they take to perform their job to the best of their abilities.

“For the first time I viewed a stadium as more than just a place to play sports, but also as a place to do business,” junior Austin Jedziniak said.

It was an exciting and educational day for Minisink Valley FBLA.
