HIGH SCHOOL ART & TECH HOLIDAY OPEN HOUSE: WINTER ART SHOW & WORKSHOPS, DEC. 6


Looking for a creative and engaging family activity this holiday season? This invitation is for you!

 

The high school art and technology departments are combining their talents and efforts to bring you a night of creativity and knowledge sharing catering to a range of interests and ages.

 

Arrive at 6:30 p.m. and make your way to the downstairs lobby of the high school cafeteria to view the Winter Art Show, enjoy refreshments – and to register for the workshops of your choice.

 

WORKSHOPS: 7 – 9 p.m.

Participants will break into workshop groups at 7 p.m. If your workshop ends early, you are welcome to visit other classrooms and meet our teachers.

 

• Holiday Tea Light Holder – A children’s craft for ages 5-10. Adult supervision is required. Instructors: Mrs. Hoban-Rich & Mrs. Morais

• Introduction to Photography & DSLR Cameras – For the novice camera user. Covering manual shooting, shutter speed, aperture, ISO, and white balance. Bring your own camera or test out a Nikon D3300. For teens and adults. Instructor: Mrs. Hoolan

• Laser-Cut Ornaments – Create your ornament using some of the exciting new equipment in our technology department. All ages welcome. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Instructors: Mr. Budd and Mr. Mink

• Holiday Greeting Cards – Design your own card utilizing a variety of media, including hand-lettering and watercolors. All ages welcome. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Instructors: Mrs. Tangney & Ms. Beodeker 

• Jewelry Making – Explore techniques for creating unique jewelry. For teens and adults. All materials will be provided. Instructor: Mrs. Parker

• Printmaking – Produce multiple images from one design using a Styrofoam printing technique. All ages welcome. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Instructors: Mrs. McElroy & Mrs. Welsh

 

Workshop registration will be on a first-come, first-serve basis, so pre-registration is strongly encouraged. Pre-register online: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/30e0a44aca72da6fc1-mvhs Suggested donation per workshop is $5-10. All proceeds to benefit Art Club senior scholarship awards. NOTE: If you preregister but do not arrive by 6:50pm, your spot in the workshop may be offered to another participant.
