Fantastic beasts were recently unleashed in the high school library in celebration of the film release of “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” based in the J.K. Rowling novel written under the pen name of "Newt Scamander."

A Rowling-inspired generation of readers, members of the MVHS Book Club transformed the school library into a spellbinding, interactive wizard world with Harry Potter themes.

In good Hogwarts’ fashion, the young wizards were assigned a school house in a House Sorting Ceremony, and handmade wands selected their wizards. The celebration continued with trivia and "wicked" games, including a challenging “Guess Who?” of characters.

At Honeydukes sweet shop, a table was set with place-cards for favorite Harry-Potter characters. The wizards enjoyed golden snitches and edible broomsticks, butter-beer cupcakes and chocolate frogs—homemade by club members. Together they ate, laughed, and shared their love for the fictional world of wizardry.
