The challengers of a wet spring did not dampen the resolve of Minisink’s girls varsity softball team. They are off to a strong star, winning their first five games of the young 2017 season.

Junior pitcher Alayna Savaglio has been sensational on the mound, and at the plate. Alayna has a 5-0 pitching record, a sparkling 1.17 ERA, and she boasts 49 strikeouts in 30 innings pitched. She is also leading the team offensively with 2 home runs, 4 extra-base hits, 9 runs batted in, and a batting average of .500.

Other women Warriors enjoying a fast start are sophomore Arianna Guarracino with a batting average of .571 and 5 RBIs, and sophomore Kourtney Ketcham with a batting average of .467 and 5 RBIs. The rest of the team is demonstrating great balance with four other players with 5 RBIs, and three players with batting averages over .300.
