FBLA STUDENTS LEARN FROM THE BEST AT SPORTS BUSINESS DAY

Minisink Valley's Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) took an unforgettable trip to Met Life Stadium to participate in the third annual “Sports Business Day” hosted by the New York Jets on Oct. 24.

The event gives students an inside look of the sports industry and offers insight into the many jobs supporting the daily operations of a sports franchise.

Jets business executives in marketing, group sales, customer service and food and beverage departments shared their expertise with over 1,000 students in attendance. During a guided tour of the stadium--including press boxes, suites, restaurants, clubs and locker room--Jets representatives spoke to the group about the daily, behind-the-scenes work that supports the Jets business operations.

“This trip is a great opportunity for high school students to interact with professionals in the business world. Their knowledge and expertise are fantastic learning tools for MVHS students,” said Seth Johnson, MVHS business teacher and FBLA adviser.
