OTISVILLE STUDENTS TAKE THE HOUR OF CODE CHALLENGE

Otisville students in all grade levels participated in the global Hour of Code challenge during 2017’s Computer Science Education Week (Dec. 4-10).

With the help of school librarian Mrs. Sheer, art teacher Mrs. Welsh, and the technology department, students were introduced to the activity with a quick tutorial on the Smart Board and a few programming terms.

Equipped with Chromebooks and logged onto code.org, students experienced firsthand the language of computers, based on logical thinking. The Hour of Code challenge requires the use of many important skills such as problem-solving, critical thinking, organization, collaboration, and directional skills.
