OTISVILLE JOINS NATIONAL SCHOOL RECYCLING CHALLENGE

As a Green Star School, Otisville is taking another green leap and participating in the TREX Plastic Film Recycling Challenge this year. The challenge invites schools into a healthy competition to see who can collect and recycle the most polyethylene plastic. The winning schools receive beautiful Trex products and the gratification that comes with going green. (Learn how it works.)

With coordination from our school's Recycling Club, we are collecting plastic film and plastic bags for recycling. They must be clean, dry and free of food residue. (Learn more about recyclable plastic films.) Collection containers have been placed around the school. Recycled content will be weighed, brought to a collector each month, and recorded for the challenge purposes.

Together, we can make our school greener, protect and preserve our environment—and we might even win a beautiful Trex outdoor bench for our school.
