MRS. MARCOLINA'S LETTER WRITING CAMPAIGN RECEIVES A RESPONSE FROM AFGHANISTAN

In living out their class motto:  "Do whatever you can to make today better for someone else", Mrs. Marcolina's class is involved in a year-long project. They have adopted Marine Lance Corporal Matthew Gibbons, our principal Mrs. Memmelaar's nephew, who is serving our country in Afghanistan. The students have written numerous letters to Matt, his buddies, and other US soldiers in that area.  They are also preparing to send over some packages. This photo shows 5RM student, Elizabeth Mazany, holding a letter she received in response to one of the "Dear US Soldier" letters she sent for Matthew Gibbons to distribute. This was an unexpected thrill for the students who are unselfishly supporting our US Troops.

A scanned copy of the first page of the letter can be viewed here, and the second page can be viewed here.
