As we approach the middle of spring, we prepare for some transitions ahead!  While we are sad to see our fifth grade students leave us and head to the middle school, we also prepare to welcome our current MVES second graders into third grade.  There are a few happenings you should know about as a parent of either a second grader or a fifth grader:

  • INCOMING THIRD GRADE PARENT ORIENTATION NIGHT - Come meet Mrs. Memmelaar (Principal) and Ms. Peluso (Assistant Principal) as we tell you all about what to expect as the parent of a third grader.  This informational meeting will take place on Monday, June 7 at 7:00p.m. in the intermediate school auditorium.  Please consider taking a moment to fill out a brief survey to share any questions you may have.  The survey can be accessed here.

  • FIFTH GRADE MIDDLE SCHOOL VISIT:  On June 2nd, a variety of middle school teachers and students will play host to our current fifth grade students.  Students will tour the middle school and have an opportunity to ask questions.

  • INCOMING SIXTH GRADE PARENT ORIENTATION NIGHT:  Parents of incoming 6th graders will have an opportunity to ask questions and learn about the middle-school routines, curriculum, and extra-curricular activities.  This will take place on June 8th at 7:00p.m.

  • MIDDLE SCHOOL PROJECT COOPERATION:  5th grade Project Cooperation will run from Monday, August 2 through Thursday, August 5, 2010.  The program runs from 9:00a.m. to 3:00p.m. each day.  District transportation is not provided to this event.  The goal of this exciting theme based program is to encourage sixth graders to work cooperatively, build leadership skills, and increase self-esteem.  The program is staffed by middle school teachers, aides, and high school students.  More information can be obtained by clicking the link here or by visiting the middle school section of the website.
