WELCOME BACK!

A warm welcome back to our students, faculty, staff, families, and community members for the 2010-2011 school year!  It's always bittersweet when summer comes to a close, but we are excited to greet the students and welcome them back to another wonderful year of learning and fun!  Teachers have been hard at work in their classrooms, preparing them to welcome their incoming classes.  Our incredible team of buildings and grounds staff have been hard at work preparing the building and all that goes into running a school from behind the scenes!

As you prepare for the first day, here are a few tips to keep in mind:

  • There is no better start to a school year than that which comes with a good night's sleep!  Studies show children of the intermediate age need 8-10 hours of sleep in order to function at their best.
  • Make sure to send your child out the door with some words of encouragement!  The first day of school can be anxiety provoking.  This is a normal reaction and should fade with time.
  • Your child should be out at his/her bus stop 5-10 minutes before its scheduled arrival.  This is particularly important in the opening days of school as transportation route schedules are estimated.

Once again, welcome!  We look forward to another great year!
