The voices of Minisink Valley's chorus students rose together at the 2nd Annual District Choral Festival, on June 2, at the Intermediate School.

Sharing the MVIS stage were the High School Chamber Choir, the 6th Grade Choir, the Otisville 4th and 5th grade Choir, the Intermediate School 5th Grade Choir – and their respective directors: Mrs. Cornacchio, Mrs. Hughes, Mr. Bradley, and Mr. Izzo. Each choir performed one selection for all the others, and the event concluded with a combined performance of "Better When I'm Dancin'."

This unique experience is especially meaningful for younger students. They can’t wait to hear the high school choir, and are beyond excited to sing along with them.

"Wow! I can't wait to sing like that!" a young student said. "I can't wait to get to High School!"

“It was very inspiring, and you could feel the students’ desire to continue singing, which is one of our main goals for this event,” said Danielle Cornacchio, MVIS music and chorus teacher.

For choir directors, the event is also a testimony of how far everyone has come in another year, and a time to bask in their students accomplishments.
