FIFTH GRADERS JUMP THE DONUT ON THEIR WAY OUT

Physical challenges in the last days of school did not slow down in Ms. Uhelsky’s PE classes.

Fifth graders went from moving up ceremony on Monday, to jumping the donut in gym A on Tuesday, to compulsory tunes like Van Halen’s “Jump.”

Ms. Uhelsky’s annual Jump the Donut Contest is a challenge of speed, agility, coordination, and body awareness. As a donut-shaped, weighted object is spun under the children's feet, they must meet the challenge by timing their jump to skip the “donut” as it comes around.

Mr. Sirico and Mr. Murphy served as jurors in the process of elimination. Finalists were recognized with medals.
