Fourth grade students in Stefani Caporlingua art class participated in the global Hour of Code challenge during 2017’s Computer Science Education Week (Dec. 4-10).

They logged onto Chromebooks and selected the program "Kano’s Street Art" on the Hour of Code website. Following step-by-step instructions from their teacher, students made their own paint brushes and played with color on a digital canvas, while learning basic programming language.

For most students, this was their first experience with coding. “This gives them a good visual of how coding works and what it takes to create the programs and apps they use every day,” Mrs. Caporlingua said.
