NEWS FROM THE PRINCIPAL

It seems as if we are coming through the Winter months virtually un- scathed. With only a bit of snow to end the month of February, we have had such a great opportunity to keep the flow of learning go- ing. Our teachers and our students are working hard and although it was nice to have the “snow day”, it has been nice to not have gaps in the learning process.
Please continue to be mindful of the changes in weather so that students are dressed appropriately each day.
One of the areas / skills that we have been working on besides our regular curriculum, is how to enjoy lunch in a responsible and safe manner. Safe, of course, is easy....no running, touching, jumping, etc. Responsible is a little more difficult. It involves clearing our own place, picking up after ourselves, and speaking in an inside voice. This is a skill that students should have so that they will understand how to act, not only in school, but in restaurants, other peoples’ homes, and in public in general. You can assist this process by having these same responsibilities take place at home.
As always, we here at MVES are privileged to be entrusted with the education of your children. Thank you for all that you do.
