AIR FORCE TECH SGT AND CLASS PARENT VISITS WITH K-1 STUDENTS

In honor of Veterans Day, Mrs. Bobish and Mrs. DiSimone’s K-1 loop classes at MVES hosted Technical Sergeant Ed Connors on Monday, Nov. 13.

Tech Sgt Connors, a member of the 105th Airlift Wing at the Stewart Air National Guard Base, arrived in his fatigues and was warmly greeted by his son’s classmates and teachers. Kindergartner Luke Connors couldn’t be prouder of his Dad!

After reading from the children’s book, “Veteran’s Day,” Tech Sgt Connors presented on the four branches of service, what it means to a veteran, and the importance of recognizing our veterans’ service and sacrifice.

While sharing about his job of 16 years, working on airplanes at the Stewart base, Tech Sgt Connors shared many fascinating facts about airplanes and encouraged student questions and interaction.

The visit culminated with Tech Sgt Connors distributing stickers, bookmarks and pencils to the students—and with red, white and blue cupcakes.

THANK YOU, Tech Sgt Connors, for your service, and for your visit!
