March 26 Board of Education meeting to take place via ‘Google Meets’; NOTE: March 26 BOE Finance Committee meeting is canceled

Board of education signImportant update:  The March 26 Board of Education Finance Committee is canceled. The March 26 regular Board of Education meeting will still take place.  Please make note of the information below:

Based upon notices and health advisories issued by federal, state and local officials and pursuant to Governor Cuomo’s Executive Order 202.1, dated March 12, 2020, which, among other things, suspended portions of the New York State Open Meetings Law, the Minisink Valley Central School District Board of Education meeting on Thursday, March 26 will be held by “Google Meets.”

The Executive Session of the Board of Education will be initiated after the Board of Education first convenes the public meeting by using the conferencing link adopting a motion to go into Executive Session, disconnecting the conference call and then reinitiating a public meeting conference call once the Executive Session has concluded.

Due to public health and safety concerns and pursuant to Executive Order 202.1, the public will not be permitted to attend this meeting in person or at the remote locations where the Board of Education members will be situated and public comment will not be permitted.

Therefore, these provisions of Board Policy 1510 (Regular Board Meetings and Rules) and Board Policy 1520 (Special Meetings of the Board) regarding public meetings, videoconferencing and public expression at meetings are being suspended for this meeting and all other meetings until further notice.

The public, however, will be able to listen only to this meeting through “Google Meets.”  More information on how to access this meeting will follow once confirmed.

Thank you for your understanding and  flexibility during this difficult period..
