Bravo! Middle School Eighth-Grade Band and Chorus earn ‘superior’ ratings at Trills and Thrills Music Festival at Six Flags Great Adventure

The Eighth-Grade Band and Choir earned the highest possible rating of “superior” at the May 17 the Trills and Thrills Music Festival at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, N.J.

The Band earned a high score of 97; and the Chorus earned a high score of 96.

The Trills and Thrills Music Festival is a motivational, one-day music festival for students and music directors. Adjudicators are comprised of former music educators familiar with the abilities of school-aged musicians.

The adjudicators provided each ensemble with recorded and written comments, giving the music directors and students constructive and valuable feedback on musical strengths, as well as considerations and recommendations for further developing and enhancing their skills and abilities.

The festival concluded with students celebrating their success at Six Flags Great Adventure.

“We could not be more proud of our eighth-graders in how they represented Minisink Valley Middle School on and off the stage,” said Music Teacher Laura Hulle. “Bravo to all!”
