Minisink  Valley school community:  We’re very happy to announce the “Class of 2020 Warrior Run,” a very special recognition for our Minisink Valley seniors, will take place June 17.   Below is a letter shared with students today, May 28, to alert them to save the date on their calendars. More information will follow. Thank you!

Minisink Valley High School Warrior Class of 2020,

As you know. June 26 and July 31 are the two dates we have scheduled for a live graduation ceremony with hopes of celebrating your accomplishments on the Warrior football field.  We are also working on a virtual graduation to capture your success if a live graduation is not possible.

Over the last few weeks, several organizations have been engaged in conversions to explore additional ways to honor you for reaching this milestone in your lives.  Mrs. Roda and Mrs. Demchak (senior class advisors), Project Graduation, MVTA, AMVA and district administrators reviewed a variety of options to make sure they comply with the social distancing guidelines and other mandates that we are required to follow.

I am excited to share with you that on  Wednesday, June 17 the “Class of 2020 Warrior Run” will be coming to your house to bring some special items and a special gift directly to you.

Everyone at school misses the excitement of watching you prepare for graduation and sharing in those special moments with you.  We cannot replace all that you have lost, but we want you to know that you are special to us. The “Class of 2020 Warrior Run” will be a small, but very sincere, representation of our admiration for all the hard work you have completed to get to this point.

On June 17, employees of the MVCSD, Project Graduation members, and Board of Education members will be traveling the roads of our district to stop at the home of every senior to take a moment to recognize this special time and to share a brief moment of joy with you.

In a few days, we will be posting more information about the specific times we will be arriving so you can plan to be home and be recognized by your school and community. For now, mark your calendars and more will follow!

Go WARRIORS!

Sincerely,

Kenneth Hauck
