Emily Abruzzese named 2019 valedictorian; Victoria Burger named salutatorian

Two female studentsCongratulations to Emily Abruzzese, who is Minisink Valley’s 2019 valedictorian!

Emily will be attending Union College this fall in Schenectady, New York. She plans to major in mechanical engineering with a minor in computer science.

Emily is currently involved in Study Buddies, Key Club, Future Business Leaders of America, and is the treasurer of National Honor Society. During her four years in high school, Emily has participated in lacrosse and is currently one of the captains of the team. She has also been playing competitive travel ice hockey since she was six years old.

During the summer, Emily volunteers as a counselor at her Church’s Vacation Bible School as well as at the school’s Camp Cooperation for incoming sixth graders.

Congratulations also to Victoria Burger, who is the high school’s salutatorian!

Victoria Burger will be attending Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute this fall in Troy, New York.  She plans to major in chemical engineering and potentially continue on to graduate school.

Victoria is currently a volunteer tutor through her high school, as well as a member of National Honor Society and Study Buddies, a club in which she aids in an elementary classroom each week.  She has also been on the varsity lacrosse, indoor track, and cross country teams and was a captain of all three sports this year.  In her four years of high school, Victoria has also been a member of the Symphonic Band and a volunteer elementary lacrosse coach.
