“Almost, Maine” is a comedy, but there’s nothing gratuitous about its sense of humor. In the words of cast member Tina Millwood, inhabiting the world of John Cariani's play is an opportunity to grow. And what can be more challenging to young actors?

The people of Almost, ME, “never got organized,” that’s why their town is just “Almost” and you won’t find it on Maine’s map. Still, they exist and you will even recognize them: couples who almost make it; couples who almost miss each other; and others yet who find themselves in front of our eyes.

The funny, relatable, moving, puzzling, dreamy, hopeful, poignant, illuminating…stories of “Almost” people unfold in eight, loosely connected scenes you won’t soon forget.

—Cast and student director talk about the show…
“I love this play. It’s very different from anything we’ve done before. The many, short of scenes give everyone a chance to show what they’ve got, and they’re a good way for younger actors to wet their feet. And it’s a really sweet setting. It’s getting me ready for winter.” – Nicole Martinez, student director, senior class

“This is my favorite of all the fall shows I’ve been involved with. The characters are like real people and it’s easy to connect to them. You can really find yourself in your character and tap into your own experience—or you get to discover a new side of yourself and explore it.” – Tina Millwood, cast member, junior class

“There are so many stories, and so many equal parts to this play, everyone gets a chance to shine.” – Katie Scialabba, cast member, junior class
