U.S. Veterans at Saint Joseph’s Place, a nursing care facility at Bon Secours Community Hospital, received admiring visitors and due honors on Nov. 10.

Members of Minisink Valley JROTC Warrior Battalion visited with Saint Joseph’s veterans to present the colors, show their appreciation, and hear the veterans' stories. We commend the following cadets for making sure these heroes are not forgotten:

  • Cadet /2LT Anthony James, presenter of the American flag
  • Cadet/2LT Jonathan Bozzone, presenter of the JROTC flag
  • C/2LT Heather Heinen, and C/1LT Eric Schneider, carriers of the drill rifles
  • Cadet /CSM Sahel Shah, Cadet /MSG Grace Clark, Cadet /CPL Tyler Stuart, and Cadet/PVT Damian Davis, presenters of certificates of appreciation to the veterans.

“This was a significant experience for our cadets. Nothing replaces speaking with a veteran in person to understand their love for our country,” said LTC Jonathan Brooks, JROTC instructor. “We are all thankful for the opportunity to pay our respect and thank these veterans for their service and sacrifice.”

The Warrior Battalion also participated in the Otisville and Port Jervis Veterans Day parades.
