Otisville’s annual Earth Day celebrations were staged on a balmy spring day, Friday, April 28. Students and faculty assembled in the grassy fields below to sing and talk about how to love and protect the planet we call home.

Mrs. Hughes led the school in song, and Mrs. Frawley's class led in the recital of the Earth Day pledge. Inspired by Earth-friendly themes, students designed posters, wrote poetry, performed skits and theme songs, and built a robot from recyclables. Presentations offered practical advice on how to avoid harming the planet, and how to reduce water and energy waste.

Program participants were the Recycling Club, and the following classes: Ms. Careccia, Ms. Mynders, Ms. Alder, Mrs. Frawley, Mrs. Mankoo, Mrs. Jennings/ Mrs. Louey.  Mrs. Teresia Parker helped host the event.

The entire school community commends Otisville’s Recycling Club and teachers Laura Bendlin, Tara Frawley, and Kim Mynders for organizing another great Earth Day event. (Additional Photos)
