With a big win at the Homecoming Game on Friday, Oct. 13, the 2017 “Never Say Die Warriors” earned fourth seed in the playoffs!

The hard-luck Warriors bounced back to beat Washingtonville's Wizards after three close losses, all of which came down to the last snap of the game. One of those heartbreakers was an overtime loss to this Friday’s foe, the Bushmen of Pine Bush.

The Warriors are looking to advance to the semis against the winner of Middletown vs. Warwick. Last year, the third seeded Warriors were eliminated by the sixth seeded Bushmen. This year, the Warriors are looking to return the favor!

At the Homecoming, our Warriors played a solid game on offense and, as usual, the defense stepped up with another great effort. The offense lit up the scoreboard when they scored 21 points on three touchdowns.

Ryan Johansen threw for two touchdowns and rushed for one. Ryan threw the first to Anton Juncaj, followed by another bomb to Dominick Vetrano. Vetrano also returned an interception for a touchdown. The team’s offense is really starting to gel and, in spite all of the injuries, we played our best all-around game.

BELIEVE! That’s what makes a team! When everyone buys in, believes in each other, and plays hard for each other, you BELIEVE you can get it done.

It is a true pleasure to coach Minisink Football, and I couldn’t be prouder to be this team’s coach. Every single day these athletes come to practice determined to get better, and that they do, every time!  They do it because that’s who they are.  It’s the way they were brought up, and that’s the way they play every game. Thank you, PARENTS and FAMILIES!

This will be our last home game of the year, but not our last game. See you on John Bell Field, Friday, Oct. 20, at 7PM!!

Thank you for your support. God bless, and Go Warriors!
