Student athlete Carley Rodriguez took a decisive step into her future on Nov. 8 by signing her National Letter of Intent to play lacrosse for Division II at Nyack College next fall.

The signing ceremony took place in the school gymnasium in the presence of Carley’s parents, school and district officials, and her coach, Chris Burger.

Coach Burger, who has trained Carley since sixth grade, praised her for her tireless work and dedication to the sport. “Carley aimed high and worked hard in and off season, on our Monday nights at the Milton dome, summer sessions and travel games,” Coach Burger said. “And it didn’t stop there. She also played with other travel teams and exposed herself to different coaching styles.”

Constantly striving to improve her individual skills and be a better teammate, Carley is willing to play with anyone and actively seeks new experiences. According to Coach Burger, at Milton’s Monday nights, Carley became known for changing jerseys between games and playing for multiple teams.

“I look forward to what she will do in the upcoming season, and I’m sure she’ll give everything she’s got to help push us to another section title,” Coach Burger added. Carley’s work ethic, focus, and strong foundation are sure to deliver continued success in college, and beyond.
