Minisink Valley students to participate in eighth annual Orange County Arts Council ‘Arts Build Confidence’ student art celebration on Feb. 22 at Galleria at Crystal Run

Minisink Valley art students will participate in the eighth annual Orange County Arts Council “Arts Build Confidence” Student Art Celebration, on Saturday, Feb. 22 at the Galleria at Crystal Run in Middletown from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

student artworkThe work of 10 high school art students will be among the over 100 pieces of artwork from high school students around the county on display. Participating students are: Hannah Gildea, Ashley Scott, Melissa Faughnan, Theresa Courtenay, Shannon O’Brien, Isabella Balz, Aselin Watson, Victoria Kurlander, Meaghan Courtenay and Kelly Morrison.

In addition, Otisville Elementary and Minisink Valley Elementary will have student works presented in a digital format for public viewing.

 

Mary poppins logoThe Minisink Valley High School Drama Club will be among 10 high schools showcasing their spring musical productions. Highlights of Minisink Valley’s forthcoming production of “Mary Poppins” will take place from 11:30 a.m. to noon in front of JC Penney.

At 3 p.m., officials will recognize schools whose artwork is displayed in the new panels within the Galleria.

Organizers said this event is the largest student event outside of sports in this area.
