2025 Drinking Water Lead Testing Reports
The Minisink Valley School District is currently performing New York State-required “lead in water” testing. This testing is now performed every three years to ensure safe levels at all drinking water fixtures. Minisink Valley also tests many fixture locations that are not listed as “applicable,” such as hand washing sinks, etc. This testing, which goes beyond what New York State requires, gives the district a good gauge of water quality district wide.
Prior to this round of sampling and testing, the New York State requirement was to test every five years with a maximum level of 15 parts per billion (ppb). Any fixtures testing at 15 ppb or greater are required to be remediated and retested to acceptable limits before being placed back in service.
However, new requirements now require the district to sample every three years with a maximum level of 5 parts per billion (ppb).
All sampling results and remedial actions are reported to both the New York State and Orange County health departments. Results can also be found via this link: 2025 Drinking Water Lead Testing Reports
Please know the district is committed to ensuring safe potable drinking water for all and being in regulatory compliance.
Thank you.
