Otisville Elementary students “jumped the donut,” skipped for heart health, and joined the American Heart Association’s (AHA) Kids Heart Challenge, Feb. 25-March 1.
The Kids Heart Challenge replaces the “Jump Rope for the Heart” program, but the focus is the same: teaching students the importance of eating healthy and exercising to maintain good heart health.
For the fifteenth consecutive year, Otisville jumped to the challenge and raised another $8,400 for the AHA. A “Jump the Donut” competition was added to the traditional jump rope exercises to help boost fundraising efforts.
CONGRATULATIONS to “Jump the Donut” winners, grades 1-5:
- Jocelyn Rudnick
- Kaden Dong
- Sebastian Rudnick
- Jayce Lee
- Jaida Macaluso
Over the years, the school community has contributed $88,000 for the research and treatment of heart disease, and raised the heart-health awareness of all its students.
