‘SchoolTool’ will now be used for progress report and report card distribution for all K-12 students

SchoolTool logoThe Minisink Valley School District will distribute progress reports and report cards electronically via SchoolTool beginning this upcoming school year.

Providing electronic documents to parents/guardians allows them to quickly receive important information about their child’s academic progress and grade reports. It also allows the district to eliminate paper and postage costs to get this important information to parents/guardians while using SchoolTool’s innovative technology capabilities is a completely secure way.

This new and permanent way of distributing progress reports and report cards will be for all K-12 students.

PLEASE NOTE: More immediately, student schedules will be available via SchoolTool by late August.

Parents of students in grades 6 to 12 will need to ensure they have a SchoolTool account beginning now.

Parents of students in grades K to 5 will be notified in the early fall about ensuring an account is set up.

Every parent/guardian has the ability to access SchoolTool.  If an account is already set up, there’s nothing more to do.

Parents/guardians who need to sign up for SchoolTool will need to complete a one-time registry to access the SchoolTool portal.

SchoolTool is a 100 percent web-based student management system used by schools worldwide. Progress reports and report card distribution are only two of SchoolTool’s features. The platform also allows parents to view their child’s daily and classroom attendance, schedules, class assignments and grades, discipline notes, state assessment data and more, in addition to being the portal to email teachers.

Parents/guardians who need to create a SchoolTool account should visit the Parent Portal page. Enrollment information, including information on the SchoolTool mobile app, is located there.

Approximately two weeks after submitting a request, parents/guardians will receive an email with instructions for logging onto the portal, getting a temporary password, changing the temporary password and navigating the site.

The Minisink Valley School District does not have access to SchoolTool passwords. Parents/guardians who forget their SchoolTool password must follow instructions on the portal to reset it.

Please email parentportal@minisink.com for assistance about questions not addressed in the website instructions.
