The Orange County Department of Health (OC DOH) and Health Commissioner Dr. Irina Gelman have asked Minisink Valley to assist in its work of helping to create further community awareness of the availability of COVID-19 vaccinations by providing the following link:
Vaccination Information Request Form
The link will allow eligible residents who live or work in Orange County to sign up to receive information regarding the COVID-19 vaccine. This will help all residents to equitably receive updates on the vaccine distribution as it is made available to the Orange County Health Department.
For residents who don’t have access to a computer and require assistance, please call the Orange County Office for the Aging at 845-615-3700.
Please note: To underscore the scarcity of vaccine among providers in our area, according to New York State Department of Health, as of Jan. 25, there were 148 “enrolled” COVID-19 vaccine providers locally, of them only 10 are “approved” by the New York State Department of Health (thus far).
Of those 10, only five are currently receiving vaccine allocations and are administering vaccines on a weekly basis.
We understand these are very confusing times and there is a lot of conflicting information circulating. The OC DOH is reminding residents that signing up in this same alert system should hopefully clear up some of the confusion and avoid delaying the much needed, timely vaccination for our eligible community members.
Thank you!
