Varsity wrestling team earns fourth-place honors at ‘The Clash XVII 2020 National High School Wrestling Duals’

varsity boys wrestling teamCongratulations to the Minisink Valley High school varsity wrestling team, which earned fourth-place honors at the recent “The Clash XVII 2020 National High School Wrestling Duals” in Rochester, Minnesota.

The Warriors –who played in six matches over two days — were among 32 teams participating.

“The fourth-place finish is an awesome accomplishment, as the teams wrestling trophycompeting were among the best teams in the nation,” said Coach Kevin Gallagher.

Junior Adam Fenner went 6-0 and defeated the Number 1 ranked wrestlers from Iowa and Minnesota. Senior Nick Picarello, eighth-grader Zack Ryder and ninth-grader Ethan Gallo all went 5-1 in the tourney.

“Minisink Valley is extremely proud of our wrestlers and coaches for their time and commitment to compete and place fourth in this national level tournament over the recent holiday recess,” added Athletic Director Timothy Bult.
