For your awareness, secure browser issues tied to today’s Grade 3 to 8 state assessments again took place.

This remains a statewide issue and not a district issue. The New York State Department of Education has apologized to the impacted schools and, like us and those who were impacted, finds this situation unacceptable. The vendor involved is being held accountable for not meeting expectations and contractual obligations.

Fortunately, at the Middle School, Day 1 of ELA testing was completed before these issues developed. There were only a very small handful of students impacted.

However, today’s Day 2 ELA testing at Otisville was suspended prior to the school’s scheduled start time for these assessments. Faculty returned to a normal instructional day for their students and we thank them for their flexibility.

Both schools will pause assessments for the rest of this week, and a normal instructional day will take place in lieu of these assessments.

The Middle School Day 2 ELA testing will be rescheduled to Tuesday, April 22.

The Otisville Day 2 ELA testing will be rescheduled to Tuesday, April 22.

We know our faculty have worked hard to prepare their students for these assessments and our students were fully prepared and ready to take these exams today. We again apologize to our students, faculty and you for this unanticipated change in schedule. We sincerely appreciate the resiliency, understanding and good grace of our students, faculty and parents/guardians.

Thank you.
