Congratulations to the five individual athletes and two relay teams who have qualified for the NYSPHSAA State and Federation Outdoor Track & Field Championships, to be hosted by Middletown High School on Saturday, June 14.
Advancing to states is Ella Michelitch in the pentathlon; Delila Kronimus and Logan Schupner in the pole vault; and 400-meter dash runners Kaleigh Murphy (:57.86) and Robert LaBarbera (:49.49).
Also qualifying for state competition are the 4x400 meter relay squads of Chloe Beck, Emma Berkshire, Ferrah Hill, Kaleigh Murphy, Salma Samdaoui and Zoey Terpak; and Samuel Anderson, Robert LaBarbera, Jordan Mabra, Jon Mausling, Angel Mendez and Benjamin Spevak.
The State Qualifier competition format advances event winners and those individuals holding either a super standard or at-large standard performance in each of 19 track and field disciplines. The events took place over two days at Monroe-Woodbury and Goshen high schools. Preliminary events will begin Friday, June 13.
