Twelve high school students have been awarded the New York State Seal of Biliteracy (NYSSB), an award given to students who demonstrate a high level of proficiency in English and one or more world languages.
The award is designed to recognize and encourage the study of languages, highlighting the value of linguistic and cultural diversity. The NYSSB is also used to identify graduates with valuable multilingual skills for college admission and future employers. The NYSSB seal will be affixed to their diplomas and transcripts.
