The Varsity Wrestling Team captured the Section IX, Division I Dual Meet Championship tonight, Jan. 14, with a commanding 47–16 victory over Middletown in the team final.
"I thought we wrestled tough tonight," said Head Coach Kevin Gallagher. "The whole team --- it was a total team effort. Middletown is a good team and they're physical. Every match, we've kind of always wrestled to the end and our really good kids came though big time, with with big pins. Our kids are just getting better all the time and I'm proud of them. Our guys just didn't stop the whole time. They love wrestling in this gym....in this tournament, so I'm pumped up."
