Key club members with certicates

Four members of the High School’s Key Club were honored for their talent and leadership during Key Club New York’s recent Leadership Training Conference.

Honored were:   

  • Reilly Dickinson, Distinguished Senior

  • Kathryn Jones, Distinguished Club Vice President  

  • Kurt Lukasik, Distinguished Sophomore

  • Siyassa Mathis, Distinguished Club President

Additionally, Daniel Oenga was elected Lieutenant Governor for District 13.

“The lieutenant governor plays a special role in Key Club,” said Advisor Lisa Mahadeo. “They are the link between the district executive board leaders and the Key Clubs within our division.”

This year’s conference attendees were Chloe Alexis, Adrianna Arredondo, Samantha Hunter, Daniel Oenga, Elsa Omen, Mackenzie Sheppard-Sawitsky, Kerry Smith, Morgan Varian, Hannah Wieboldt and Peyton Wood. At this conference, they attended workshops and brainstormed ideas to grow as leaders, strengthen the club, celebrate service and connect with peers statewide.

Key Club International is the oldest and largest student-led community service organization for high school students, focused on developing leadership skills and promoting service to others. The High School’s Key Club was formed in 1967.
