Charlie and Christopher

Juniors Charlotte “Charlie” Curabba and Christopher Cinelli were among 34 Orange County school district students honored at Orange-Ulster BOCES’ 2026 Humanities Honoree Awards Ceremony and Breakfast at the Country Club at Otterkill on April 23.

This event celebrated seniors and juniors who were nominated by their high schools and O-U BOCES who have stood out among their peers by showing an impressive dedication, skill, and commitment to the arts and humanities. The gathering celebrated their outstanding accomplishments in the fine arts, performing arts and the humanities fields.

students, administrators at humanities eventCharlie is an outstanding musician --- playing the clarinet and tenor saxophone, and is a vocalist, actress and student of English. She’s earned school leadership and outstanding musicianship awards in choir and band. She auditioned and was selected for the 2025 and 2026 American Choral Directors Association Honors Choirs. As a member of the High School’s Drama Club, she played lead roles in its productions of “Arsenic and Old Lace” and “Monty Python’s Spamalot.” At school, she excels in English 11H and is a member of the Latin Club. Charlie plans to study neurology in college and attend medical school.

Christopher is also an outstanding musician --- playing alto saxophone and baritone saxophone, and has played in school bands since fifth-grade. He won a scales competition in Symphonic Band and was named the “Scale of Palooza” Scales Champion in band. He’s also an actor, having been a member of the district's drama program since seventh-grade, where his strength lies in comedic acting. He played the lead roles in the High School Drama Club’s productions of “Arsenic and Old Lace” and “Monty Python’s Spamalot.” He was also named best actor for his performance of the High School’s production of “Get Smart.” Christopher plans to major in music education in college and become a high school band teacher.
