Seal of civic readiness students

Congratulations to the 29 students who have earned the New York State Education Department's Seal of CIvic Readiness!

The New York State Seal of Civic Readiness was launched statewide in 2022, following a pilot program conducted in selected schools. It's a special recognition that students can earn to show they are prepared to be active, informed and responsible citizens.

To receive the seal, students demonstrate their understanding of government, democracy, civic issues and community involvement through coursework, projects, service and other civic experiences. The seal is placed on a student’s diploma and transcript to highlight their commitment to civic engagement and their readiness to participate in their community, state and country.
