Who may vote?

You may vote if you are 18-years-old or older,  a U.S. citizen, a district resident for at least 30 days, and registered voter for either a general election or a school board election.

How do I register for the school vote?

If you are already registered with the county, you are eligible to vote. To confirm your county registration, visit www.orangecountygov.com,

On that site, click on: How Do I>Voter Registration>NYS Voter Lookup Database

and enter the required fields to view your voter status. If you are not registered with the county and would like to register for ONLY the school’s budget vote and election, please do so by stopping by the main office. You may also register at the district clerk’s office, Minisink Valley Central School District, Route 6, Slate Hill, New York, from  8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on days when school is in session. Please provide proof of residency.

Where do I vote?

Residents of District #1 – Towns of Greenville, Minisink and Wawayanda vote in the Intermediate School gym A, Route 6 campus.
Residents of District #2 – Towns of Mount Hope, Mamakating and Wallkill vote at the Otisville Elementary School.

How do I get an absentee ballot?

Absentee ballots are available to registered residents who are unable to vote in person for reasons of illness or disability or who will be out of town on the date of the vote.

NOTE: You must send this form to the Minisink Valley District Clerk, NOT to the Orange County Clerk.  The clerk must receive the application for the ballot at least seven days before the election if the ballot is to be mailed to the voter or the day before the election if the ballot is to be delivered personally to the voter.  For further information, contact the District Clerk at 845-355-5115.  The Office of the District Clerk must receive all completed ballots no later than 5 p.m. on the day of the election.
