The evening  features a variety of events of interest to everyone, and organizers hope everyone comes out to support the arts and possibly acquire a one-of-a-kind, new addition to their homes.

Art show also features annual Empty Bowls Fundraiser

Empty Bowls posterThroughout the evening, the district will also hold its annual Empty Bowls Ice Cream Social.  Bowls for the event were created by high school and middle school’s sculpture and studio arts classes.

Supporters can buy a scoop of ice cream in ceramic bowls crafted by middle school and high school students and 100 percent of the proceeds will be donated to Minisink Cares.  Each bowl serves as a reminder of all those who cannot fill their bowls each night.

Ice cream is being donated by the Dairy O and Frosty Rock Creamery.

The evening will include a 5:30 p.m. fashion show to showcase the designs and creations of students in the high school’s Fashion Design course.

From 6 to 7 p.m., there will be a presentation of videos from video production students as well as animations created by elementary art students.

In addition, upperclassmen have been working for several months to transform ordinary recycled pieces of furniture into works of art. These pieces will be auctioned off via a Silent Furniture Auction with proceeds going to graduating seniors in the form of art scholarships.  Bidding will end promptly at 7:30 p.m.

Come out and celebrate the talents of or Minisink Valley art students! You will be tremendously impressed!
