Congratulations to the Girls Varsity Track & Field team, who are the OCIAA Division II champions!

The team won the title after their recent dominant victory over Warwick Valley. Their league schedule included undefeated records against Valley Central, Goshen, Washingtonville and Warwick.

Leading the way for Minisink Valley were four-event winner Ella Michelitch (high hurdles, long jump, high jump and shot put); triple-winners Kaleigh Murphy (4x800 meter relay, 400 meters and 4x400 meter relay); Kessler Hirsch (100 meters, 4x100 meter relay and 200 meters); and triple jump victor Julia Kronimus.

The team also swept the 4x800 meter relay (Kathryn Jones, Salma Samdaoui, Murphy and Ferrah Hill), 4x100 meter relay (Olivia Sierra, Kronimus, Madeline Sierra and Hirsh) and 4x400 meter relay (Zoey Terpak, Murphy, Samdaoui and Hill) relay events, outscoring their opponents in 13 of 17 events to prevail by a score of 87 to 54.

The OCIAA Championships, hosted by Warwick Valley, will be held May 16 and 17.

In the same meet, the boys team also recorded a clean sweep of the relay events. The boys 4x800 meter relay quartet of Jordan Mabra, Carter Rossi, Robert LaBarbera and Samuel Anderson mirrored the girls team to lead off the meet in style, storming to top-3 performances in program history, clocking 8:05.58 and 9:58.90, respectively.
